Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 24, 2026
1. Introduction
Trove ("we", "our", or "us") is a personal home inventory app. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use Trove on your device.
2. Information We Collect
Trove stores all inventory data — items, photos, boxes, locations, tags, and preferences — locally on your device. We do not operate an account system and do not collect personal information.
- No email address or password is required.
- No personal profile is created or stored on our servers.
- Purchases are processed entirely by Apple; we do not receive your payment details.
- Anonymous crash reports may be collected by Apple's standard diagnostics if you have opted in on your device.
3. How We Use Your Information
Because Trove operates entirely on-device, your inventory data is used only to provide the features of the app. It is never sold, shared, or transmitted to third parties.
4. Data Storage & Security
All data is stored in your device's local storage using Apple's SwiftData framework. You can back up and restore this data through your normal device backup (iCloud or iTunes/Finder). Deleting the app removes all local data unless a backup exists.
5. Exports
When you use the CSV export feature, data leaves the device only at your explicit request via the standard iOS share sheet. You control where that file goes.
6. Notifications
Trove requests notification permission only to deliver warranty-expiration reminders you enable for specific items. No notification data is sent to our servers.
7. Children's Privacy
Trove is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
